After successful years of engagement in Belgium and a temporary hiatus during the corona pandemic, in January 2022, the non-profit organisation "Hoofdzaak er is Hoop/Espoir en Tête“ was founded by passionate Belgian Rotarians from four districts, including several former governors.
The relaunch was slow due to the pursuit of avant-premiers of new productions. This experience led to a change in strategy. "Hoofdzaak er is Hoop/Espoir en Tête“ aims to show audience-pleasing productions that appeal to a wide audience.
The aim is to organise annual autumn screenings in several Belgian cities spread across the four districts. In doing so, we aim for a fixed date so that it becomes a regular event in the Rotary calendar, even as a statutory meeting. We count on active involvement of Rotary clubs to encourage Rotarians, family members, acquaintances and friends to buy tickets, aiming for sold-out cinema theatres.
Proceeds will be donated to the ‘Stopalzheimer's Foundation,’ where scientists from all Belgian universities can apply for sponsorship for their studies related to the aforementioned disorders.
Given the increasing impact of these disabling diseases on patients, where prevention, cause and treatment are still insufficiently known, thorough scientific research is of great importance.
The essence is to provide HOPE to patients with these conditions!
